Sales Ask logs call notes and AI summaries as an internal note on the matched Opportunity, pulls Opportunities with their stages and upcoming Meetings, and lets reps create new Opportunities.

What Sales Ask uses in Odoo

What you need

  • API Key
  • Odoo URL, for example https://yourcompany.odoo.com
Sales Ask uses Odoo’s JSON-2 external API (/json/2/). Odoo includes external API access only on its Custom pricing plan. The One App Free and Standard plans don’t include it.

Get your API key

Create the key as an Odoo user who can see every salesperson’s Opportunities and Meetings, not only their own. Sales Ask reads records for all your reps with this key.
  1. In Odoo, click your avatar in the top right and open My Preferences.
  2. Open the Account Security tab and click New API Key. Confirm your password if Odoo asks.
  3. Enter Sales Ask as the description and choose the longest duration available.
  4. Click Generate Key and copy the key. Odoo shows it only once.
Odoo API keys expire, and Odoo doesn’t allow keys that last longer than three months. Before the key expires, generate a new one and paste it into Sales Ask. Otherwise Odoo starts rejecting requests, and Sales Ask turns the integration off and notifies your admins.

Connect in Sales Ask

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations and search for Odoo.
  2. Paste the API key.
  3. Enter your Odoo URL. Enter the base address only, for example https://yourcompany.odoo.com, without /json/2 or any other path. It must start with https://.
  4. Choose a matching method and click Save.

How it works

  • Reps: each rep’s Sales Ask email must match the email or login of their Odoo user.
  • Opportunities: Sales Ask reads Opportunities only, not Leads. The deal amount is the Opportunity’s expected revenue, and the status is its stage, or Lost when the Opportunity is archived.
  • Meetings: Sales Ask reads calendar meetings where the rep is the organizer or an attendee.
  • Creating Opportunities: an admin configures the fields reps fill in. New Opportunities start in the first stage of your pipeline.
