# Salesmate

> Connect Salesmate to add notes to Deals and Contacts and pull upcoming activities.

Sales Ask adds a note to the matched Deal, or to the Contact when there's no Deal, and pulls Deals, Contacts, and their upcoming activities.

## What Sales Ask uses in Salesmate

| Object | How Sales Ask uses it |
| - | - |
| Activities | Reads the rep's Activities due in the next 7 days to show their appointments |
| Deals | Reads Deals to match calls and sync value and status |
| Contacts | Reads Contacts' address, email, and phone |
| Notes | Adds a note to the Deal, or the Contact if there's no Deal |
| Users | Matches reps to active Salesmate users by email |

## What you need

* **Session Key**
* **Account Link Name**, for example `yourcompany.salesmate.io`

## Get your Session Key

Use a Salesmate user who can see every rep's deals, contacts, and activities. Records the user can't see are treated as missing.

1. In Salesmate, open **My Account → Access Keys**.
2. Copy the **Session Key**.

<Warning>
  Salesmate lists several keys on this page. Use the **Session Key**. The Access Key belongs to an older Salesmate API and is rejected.
</Warning>

## Connect in Sales Ask

1. Go to **Settings → Integrations** and search for **Salesmate**.
2. Paste the Session Key.
3. Enter your Account Link Name: the address you use to open Salesmate, such as `yourcompany.salesmate.io`. You can also enter just `yourcompany`.
4. Choose a [matching method](/integrations/overview#matching-method) and click **Save**.

## How reps are matched

Each rep's Sales Ask email must match the email of an active Salesmate user.
