# MarketSharp

> Connect MarketSharp to pull Inquiries, appointments, deal amounts, and statuses.

Sales Ask pulls your Inquiries and their appointments, with deal amounts and statuses. The connection is read-only: MarketSharp's API doesn't allow writing notes back, so call notes stay in Sales Ask.

## What Sales Ask uses in MarketSharp

| Object | How Sales Ask uses it |
| - | - |
| Inquiries | Reads Inquiries to match calls and sync deal status |
| Contacts | Reads the Contact's name on each Inquiry |
| Appointments | Reads Appointments where the rep is Salesperson 1 |
| Jobs | Reads the Inquiry's latest Job for its status |
| Contracts | Reads the Job's latest Contract total as the deal amount |
| Inquiry Statuses | Reads Inquiry Statuses for deal status when there's no Job, and so you can map them to open, won, or lost |
| Product Interests | Reads the Inquiry's Product Interests to name the deal |
| Employees | Matches reps to Employees by email |

## What you need

* **API Key**
* **API Secret**
* **Company ID** (the MarketSharp company this integration syncs with)

## Get your credentials

You need MarketSharp admin access.

1. In MarketSharp, click your username in the top right and open **Admin**.
2. Under **Apps & Add-ons Setup**, click **API maintenance**.
3. Click **Create New API Key**. Copy the API key and its secret, and save them somewhere safe. If you don't see a secret, ask MarketSharp support to enable API access for your account.
4. Copy your **Company ID**. It's the ID shown under your username in the top right of MarketSharp.

<Warning>
  Paste the API Secret exactly as MarketSharp issues it, with no added spaces or line breaks. A changed secret fails every request.
</Warning>

## Connect in Sales Ask

1. Go to **Settings → Integrations** and search for **MarketSharp**.
2. Paste the API Key, API Secret, and Company ID.
3. Choose a [matching method](/integrations/overview#matching-method) and click **Save**.

## How reps are matched

Sales Ask finds each rep's appointments by matching their Sales Ask email to the email on their MarketSharp employee record, then reading appointments where that employee is **Salesperson 1**. If a rep's MarketSharp email differs from their Sales Ask login, their appointments don't appear.

The deal amount comes from the latest contract on the Inquiry's job, so it reads \$0 until a job exists.
